I've been writing songs for over 25 years. I can't help it. I remember the first 'decent' song I wrote. I was sitting in front of the television with my sister, playing my new-to-me Ibanez Roadstar II. Came up with a riff and the rest of the song followed closely behind. Most, if not all, of the songs I've written happened the same way. Except for my sister being there.
I REALLY enjoy recording music. There's something about 'getting the take' that provides a sense of accomplishment. Like mowing the yard. You get your crappy yardwork clothes on, pull the mower out of the shed, put some gas in it and mow. And when you're done you can sit back with a beer and appreciate the work you did.
Performing music might even be more fun than recording but it satisfies for a totally different reason. I've performed PAST PRAYERS songs in various forms...solo acoustic, solo electric and with accompanying musicians. I prefer playing music with other people and I prefer nothing more than playing music with GRAND CHAMPEEN. But that's another story all together.

Do you write good lyrics? If so, get in touch and tell me your four favorite lyricists. I have an album of post-rock instrumentals that need lyrics and vocals.
