Hello people!  I hope you’re having a great summer wherever you are.  Here in Austin, it’s hottern hell so I’m spending most of my time inside.  Lately I have been preparing the next Past Prayers release which will be called Seconds.  I’m also breaking into the video arts and will be making videos for a song on the first album and one for the song “Sleeping Late” on the upcoming release.  I’m looking forward to that project, for sure.

Sorry there haven’t been any Past Prayers shows lately.  It’s been a busy spring and summer but with this fall’s release of Seconds, there will be more Past Prayers action. Stay tuned!

Our show last night at The Ghostroom was fun.  Thanks to Nic Armstrong and Beta Rhythm for playing too.  We all feel that this second gig was an improvement over our successful first gig last month.  We’ll keep working on the harmonies and arrangements and maybe start introducing some new songs to the set.

Also, I have a new batch of the album, in CD form, for people to buy if they want.  I’ll have some photos and video of the show up here before long.  Thanks!

Thanks to everyone who came to see the first Past Prayers gig at The Hole in the Wall!  Dearest Sally recorded the show on her little pocket computer and it turned out rpetty well.  In the very near future, I’ll have some of those tracks on this website’s little mp3 player.

The four of us thought the first show went really well and we’re excited about tightening the screws even more.  We’re playing at the Ghostroom on February 16 with Nic Armstrong and Beta Rhythm.  I’m having some more CDs pressed for those of you who want to buy a copy.  More to come!

Well folks, it’s a New Year and I got a new band.  Seems only fitting seeing that I have a completed album that’s ready for public consumption.  The band has had a few practices thus far and we’re feeling pretty good about what we’ve got going.  The line up is:

Matt Surgeson: bass, vocals

George Duron: drums, vocals

Jim Fredley: guitar, vocals

Me: guitar, vocals

Our first official show will be February 16 at The Ghostroom with Nic Armstrong starting off the night and The Beta Rhythm playing in the middle at 10:30. Past Prayers will have an impromptu show sometime in January to try out everything we’ve been working on.  Gonna have to come up with a cover song, too.  Sign the mailing list to get an email about show details.
